We at San Jose Races participate and help out many different events throughout San Jose and throughout the year. Here is a list of the events that we have helped in. Please come by and say “Hello!” if you are at any of these events!

Are you wanting to test for your Technician HAM License? There is a HAM Cram and testing Saturday, June 20, 2026 Here is a link to sign up – Class is free
– $15 to take the exam (paid to the examiners)
(students under 18, exam fee is only $5)
– $35 FCC license fee, good for 10 years (students under 18, license fee is paid by ARRL)

2026 Field Day June 27 – 28
Field Day is ham radio’s open house. Every June, more than 31,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio. (from https://www.arrl.org/field-day)
San Jose RACES sets up for Field Day in a local park so the community can come by and learn about HAM radio and participate.
